Jeanie Pharis joined Morgan County EMCD as the Director in January of 2019. With over 25 years of experience and a Master's degree in Fire and Emergency Management, she works to ensure our Telecommunicators have the abilities and tools to effectively handle emergency calls and responder dispatches.
Jeanie came to Alabama from Oklahoma. She worked with an Incident Management Team (IMT) for 12 years and served as a Communications Unit Leader (COML) for most of those years. Her experience includes being at Tulsa 911 for 20 years before working as the Emergency Communications Supervisor at Vance AFB in Oklahoma. Jeanie has presented at several conferences, sharing her knowledge of the 911 and leadership world. She has served as President of Alabama NENA and assists with industry politics as needed.
Jeanie works to keep the center up to date and continually watches for ways to improve the capabilities of the center and it's staff. She is a strong advocate for mental health and wellness in public safety telecommunicators..
