The operations division is responsible for the processing of all emergency calls for service and assistance received in Morgan County, Alabama, and its municipalities. We dispatch first responders for police, fire and emergency medical services calls. Our team also is responsible for sending non-emergency services in these areas.
All of our telecommunicators are trained as both call takers and dispatchers. These professionals are Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certified. EMD is a systematic program of handling medical calls.
Dispatching First Responders

Morgan County 911 maintains a countywide radio system that serves all law enforcement, fire, and ambulance personnel operating in Morgan County.
Radio System Specs:
Our system is a 700MHz P25 Phase 1 trunked radio system. Motorola XTL, XTS, and APX radios and Kenwood 5410 and 5430 radios are compatible with the system. Contact the Morgan County 911 office if your first response organization is considering purchasing any other make or model of radio.
The Morgan County 911 Board established the dispatch stakeholders as an advisory body for our organization to make recommendations to the board. The stakeholders meet quarterly.
